If We Were Having Coffee… | Vol. 22

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that this term ends next Saturday. Next Saturday?!  It’s insane how fast this term has gone but, at the same time, I’ve actually done so much and barely remember the first few weeks (they seriously feel like they were months ago). I have an incredibly busy week lined up: Law Society Ball on Monday evening at the Roman Baths; Sports Dinner followed by bop on Tuesday; essay deadline due Wednesday morning; Alice visiting from Wednesday-Thursday; afternoon tea on Thursday; Mum coming up on Friday to take all my stuff home and for Guest Night formal hall. It’s a really busy week (and I’m trying not to panic about my essay deadline, what with the two evenings before being taken up!)

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I had the most amazing twentieth birthday. I recently wrote a blog post all about it which you can read here, and I managed to tick off everything on my 20 things to do before 20 list! Being 20 is a scary thought but I want to make this a great year.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve hit over 1.1k subscribers on YouTube which is insane. Again, I can’t thank you all enough! I want to start putting out different content too but I need time to plan, film & edit so I’m waiting until the vac 😉 Alice & I should be filming a video about our gap year though (as many have requested).

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have genuinely eaten a ridiculous amount (so much so that I’ve actually gained almost an entire stone *cries*) and it all stemmed from began vegan (at least, that’s what I’ve told myself…) After being vegan for the week, I had these massive cravings and essentially binged on everything I wasn’t allowed to eat for a week. This then carried over for a second week and, before you knew it, I couldn’t seem to stop. I’ve managed to seriously cut down now but it really didn’t help. I’m just waiting for the vacation so I can lose it all again and tone back up!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that a group of us went to Christ Church formal the other week. It was surprisingly underwhelming (I don’t quite know what we were expecting) but their ‘formals’ are different from New College’s in the sense that they aren’t as fancy because the same food is served at the informal sitting. They have special ‘guest night’ dinners which are far more fancy. It’s strange how different colleges work. One of my friends also commented how going around and dining in other college’s actually makes us appreciate how good our own formals can be. New College is definitely improving in the food department 😉

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I went to Palentine’s which was an acapella show with both two male and female groups performing in a pub. We went after the Valentine’s Day formal in college (themed with pink balloon hearts and all) and really enjoyed the evening. The singing was amazing and they even had a Snapchat filter on the night!
