Our Australian Sunrise | Noosa

Of the eight weeks we spent in Australia, I’m pretty certain that the sunrise we saw in Noosa was the only sunrise we got to see.

We stayed in an AirBnB in Noosa (after not having the best experience at one of the hostels) and our host kindly offered to drive us to the beach at 4:30am to catch the sunrise. I’m so glad she did.

Feeling groggy but awake, Alice and I dragged ourselves out of bed, pulled some clothes over our heads and made our way to the car. Our host, Suzie, drove us to Noosa’s main beach (we hadn’t been yet) and we walked along the shore waiting for the sun to rise. It was really peaceful and calm and there were only a few others at the beach. After about half an hour we turned around to walk back and the sun had slowly begun to rise. It was beautiful.

It really was almost a magical moment.

Once the sun had risen, the beach suddenly became really packed – lots more people had started arriving and it was only about 6am! What a different lifestyle…

We all grabbed a hot drink (Earl Grey tea for me, of course) and went back to the beach for the view and to have a chat. It was really lovely of Suzie to take us down to the beach so early and it really was a highlight of my trip up the East Coast.

After going back to the house to change, Suzie then dropped us to Noosa’s National Park where we did one of the sea view walks. Here are some photos:

Our time in Noosa was short but sweet. We also managed to squeeze in a surfing lesson which you can read all about here.
