Our sixth form team organised a so-called “Pizza Party” for all of the senior prefects and school officers to say thank you for our help this half term. I for one wasn’t going to miss out on pizza – and free pizza at that. 😉
One of the girls who had gone to buy the pizza came in carrying two boxes of potato wedges, claiming that the shop wouldn’t let them buy more pizzas. She had the most serious face and pulled off the prank quite well (the teachers believed her for a split second!) before the others came in with the said pizzas. I could smell the greasiness off them before they were even opened, mmm…
We all gathered around the table, everyone reluctant to be the first to nab a slice and so the wedges were being devoured instead. Eventually someone was the first, cue the numerous hands going in for the kill. I grabbed a chicken slice and then later a margarita slice – yum! I hadn’t had pizza in ages so this was a nice treat, and everyone just hung about chatting and eating the food. It was pretty chill but a good social gathering before everyone dispersed and left to go home.
Overall I’d say it was a good excuse for everyone to get together, and the pizza was much appreciated! The pizza and wedges will also be the last piece of food I consume before Monday(!) – I’m doing a 3-day juice cleanse/detox starting tomorrow.
Have you ever had a pizza party?
